The big data is hot word at present. Relying on massive information data of beyond imagination and through the new methods of collection, analysis, storage, it is profoundly changing every aspects of people’s production and living. How big data will change our lives? How far is the big data from ordinary individual? How will the big data as an emerging industry develop scientifically and rationally? This phase activity ‘scientists and media face to face’ invites well-known experts and scholars and enterprise representatives in related fields to do popularization of science with ‘How far is the big data from our lives?’ as the theme.

For Journalists
The Science Media Centre provides journalists with what they need in the timeframe they need it, from interviews with leading experts to timely press briefings on topical issues.
For scientists
As well as providing advice and support to scientists already engaging with the media, the Science Media Centre runs events to introduce experts to what that involves.
For press officers
Primarily a press office, the Science Media Centre works closely with press officers from universities, industry, research funders and leading science and engineering institutions.
